Well... It´s been a minute since i have written a post. In fact, it´s been a minute since I have sat in front of a functional computer. Now, I am sitting in Mulata Hostal enjoying their free internet and Dell desktop services. Bogota Beer Company Champinero porter sweating next to me. And extremely loud music outside. The sweating comes from condensation after leaving a frigid refrigerator and entering hot night of the Carribean coast. This beer is okay. I wish they had the beer from a local brewing company in Minca Colombia. Well, actually I wish they had Montana beer. But that´s besides the point. So many things have happened. I will try to keep you up to date as well as I can.

First things first. Holy cow. I can´t really fathom the sychronicities. The family that we are helping build a hostel has bought 200 hectares of land (almost 500 acres) to begin conservation and restoration working towards building a reserve. This is pretty amazing as we were thinking we needed find people to run and take care of land we bought. Instead, we get to help locals protect their own land. So much better... This knowledge came my direction after an intense Kambo session, which afterwards, the taita (medicine worker or Shaman) opened up to me and said they had bought land and want to build a reserve. The people of the Amazon work in different ways and if you can show your strength through medicines and don´t give up, you earn respect. I feel this is just a beginning of many more initiations to earn trust, respect, and build a vital relationship to help move this world forward in a positive direction with The Peoples' Forest Project.
In about two weeks I will be visiting this land. I am bringing my camera and will take pictures and videos. The land has a small stream running through the center, jaguars, taipurs, monkeys, and much more. Apparently it also has a cow like thing (at least that's how they described it to me) but I just can´t for the life of me think of what it is... Someone said maybe a relative of a water buffalo? I don't know.
Anyways... We will begin a fundraiser in the next four months to help the Taita pay back the loan they took from the bank and double what they have purchased. This will expand the land in to almost 1000 acres in less than a year (400 hectares). What else is possible?

Next, we received a very generous offer. A friend and beautiful human loved what we were doing with our project and wanted to help. So we sent him to our homepage and he went to donate. He told us he struggled with the donation and would have liked it to go a little smoother. So, he donated $50 a month to our project. Sweet!!!!! (Can´t tell if that's a really funny exclamation point or if it's just the computer) We couldn't ask for more. Felt so blessed that he believed in us so much to give $50 a month. Then, he contacted me and said, "Bryan, I think you could use a more professional website with your own domain that will bring in people from google searches". I was like, "yeah that would be awesome but we don't really have money for it". So he goes and talks to his wife's website designer and finds out how much it is. Then comes back to me and says he would like to pay for us to get a new website, he has the designer, he has the $600 it will cost, and just needs our consent. We talk it over but really we didn't need to, yes yes yes. Double yes. (If your math skills aren't the best three yes's plus a double yes equals 6 yes's because it's mulitplied) We would love a new website with our own domain.
So right now we are having a website designer make us a new website and we get our own domain name. Boom! Connecting with the perfect family who shares the same vision. And, identifying key players to help make this funderaiser a success. Oh, one more thing, I was just donated a new computer and should have it by the end of this week. What else is possible? How can it get better than this???
I will write another post soon. We are still working out how much to publish through the blog and what to do through facebook, instagram, and twitter. Keep on following us and look out for the fundraiser. We are aiming to launch the beginning of September.
Much Love,
